The service
We transfer analog and camcorder tapes to digital files, catalog footage by date, person, and event as reasonably possible, provide a hard drive of restored files, and include six months of Our Home Movies streaming with a qualifying order. Estimates from the website are not invoices. Hours are based on actual running time.
Tapes
You represent that you have the right to have the recordings copied for personal family use. We do not transfer material we reasonably believe is commercial bootlegging. Originals are returned with the drive unless you ask otherwise. Magnetic media can fail during playback; we will tell you if a tape cannot be captured cleanly.
Streaming
Streaming is licensed for household viewing, not public performance. Personal plans are capped at one device without tailored profiles. Family plans use profiles derived from cataloguing. Price lock applies to the plan you start after the complimentary period. Annual billing is 25% less than twelve times the monthly rate. Apps on Apple TV and iOS are subject to Apple’s terms as well.
Liability
Tapes are unique. Insurance-in-transit coverage is a placeholder until a policy is bound; see Shipping. We take care. We cannot recreate a cassette that arrives already unplayable.
