Files without a catalog are still a closet
A drive of Tape 07 and Tape 12 is easier to lose than the box you already have. The complimentary catalog is how grandchildren, and theirs, will know who they are watching.
Send names and years in the estimate notes if you have them. We still watch the tape. Your notes help. They do not replace the pass.

Is cataloguing included with digitizing?
Yes. Every transfer includes review, audio notes, and tags for date, person, and event. You do not buy cataloguing as an add-on.
What do you actually write down?
Who is on camera, what is happening, and when we can tell. Christmas morning, Mom in the kitchen, first day of school. Enough that a grandchild can find the clip without guessing Tape 07.
Do I have to name every file myself?
No. That is the job. You can still send notes with the estimate if you already know the people or the year.
How does cataloguing show up when I watch?
Shelves on Apple TV, iPhone, and the web follow the people and events we tagged. Profiles use those tags so each person in the family sees a slightly different home screen.
